Ventspils
Ventspils (der alte deutsche Name ist Windau) ist eine Hafenstadt in Lettland mit 50.000 Einwohnern. Sie liegt nördlich von Liepaja und westlich von Riga. Ventspils ist eine Gründung des deutschen Ordens aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Die Stadt ist wichtiger Fährhafen und besitzt eine sehenswerte Altstadt.
