Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox (born December 25, 1954) is a vocalist from Aberdeen, Scotland.

As a child, she attended a school for the exceptionally intelligent. She also studied the flute in an institute of higher musical learning.

She is best known for having been the lead singer of Eurythmics. Prior to that, she had some success as lead singer of The Tourists. After the break-up with Dave Stewart, the other half of the Eurythmics, she began her long and very successful solo career.

The soundtrack to Peter Jackson's movie The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) features the song Into The West, written by Fran Walsh, Howard Shore and Annie Lennox and performed by Lennox, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song.
