Ark-La-Tex

The Ark-La-Tex is a US socio-economic region where Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and McCurtain County, Oklahoma meet. The region is dominated by the Shreveport/Bossier City metropolitan area where most of the media is located, although Marshall in East Texas and both Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas retain a large degree of autonomy. The region is famed for Caddo Lake, the American South's largest natural lake outside of Florida. Famous "Arklatexans" include; Maya Angelou, Terry Bradshaw, Bill Clinton, James L. Farmer Lady Bird Johnson, and Trace Adkins.
