Banja Luka

Banja Luka is the capital city of Republika Srpska in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The town is first mentionned in 1320, its population is some 200,000. It is the second largest city in Bosnia. It features the Banski Dvori, a national library, theater and the Museum of the Republika Srpska. It has one major football (soccer) stadium and two smaller indoor sports halls. The local basketball, handball and soccer teams all play under the Borac name.

Until the 1990s, the city had a diverse population, but due to the Serb policy of ethnic cleansing, today the population is almost exclusively Serbian.
