Beleg was the son of King Amlaith of Arthedain.

He came to the throne in 946 at the death of his father.

During his reign Hobbits were first seen west of the Misty Mountains, entering Eriador, most of them Harfoots.

Also during his realm Sauron returned to Mirkwood, first returning to Middle-earth.

Beleg died in 1029 T.A. and was succeeded by his son Mallor.
