Bernie Williams (born September 13, 1968) is a professional baseball player who was one of era's top centerfielders. Known for his keen batting eye and consistency, Williams has played his entire career (1991-present) with the New York Yankees. He took over as the regular centerfielder in 1993, and helped lead the team to World Series championships in 1996 and 1998-2000, as well as to AL pennants in 2001 and 2003. Among his achievements, Williams led the American League in batting average in 1998 (hitting .339), was named the AL Championship Series MVP in 1996, won the Gold Glove for his centerfield play in 1997-2000, and played in five All-Star Games.
