Brookings Institution
The Brookings Institution is one of the best known liberal think tanks in the United States. Based in Washington, D.C, it describes itself as, "an independent, nonpartisan organization devoted to research, analysis, education, and publication focused on public policy issues in the areas of economics, foreign policy, and governance."
It was founded by philanthropist Robert S. Brookings (1850-1932).
