Camp Pendleton, California
Camp Pendleton is a US Marine Corps installation located in Southern California. It was created in 1942 to train US Marines for World War II. It is named for General Joseph Henry Pendleton, USMC, who long advocated the creation of a West Coast training base for the US Marine Corps.
