Canada Party

The Canada Party was a short-lived party that ran 56 candidates in the 1993 Canadian election and one candidate in a 1996 by-election but was unable to win any seats. The party was of a populist orientation and ran on banking and monetary reform platform as well as advocacy of direct democracy, referenda and recall. Many of the parties supporters were members of the Committee on Monetary and Economic Reform and later joined the Canadian Action Party.
