Canadian Action Party

The Canadian Action Party was founded in 1997 and is a Canadian federal political party which opposed globalization and free trade and promotes independence for Canada and economic nationalism as well as monetary, democratic and electoral reform.

The founder of the Canadian Action Party is Paul Hellyer, who has worked in Canadian politics since 1949. When he was elected, he was Canada's youngest politician. Hellyer resigned as CAP leader in 2004 after the New Democratic Party failed to agree to a merger proposal.
