Charles Eastlake
Charles Locke Eastlake, 1836 - 1906 Architect and Furniture Designer. he was one of the principal exponents of the revived "Early English" or "Modern Gothis Style" that was so popular in Victorian times. He made no furniture himself, his designs being produced by professional cabinet makers.
In 1868 he published "Hints on Household Taste" which was very influential in both Britain and the United States.
From 1866 to 1877 he was secretary to the Royal Institute of British Architects and from 1878 - 1898]] Keeper of the national Gallery.
