Chihayaakasaka, Minamikawachi, Osaka

Chihayaakasaka (jp.千早赤阪) is a small village in Minanikawachi District, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. Chihayaakasaka is located in hills and near the border of Osaka and Wakayama prefecture.

This village is known of Chihayaasakusa Castle, where the Battle of Chihayaasakusa Castle occured in the Medieval, in the late of Kamakura period. An local akuto Kusunoki Masashige won this battle and began his career to the most important and reliable men of Emperor Godaigo.

Today there is a museum for rememberance on this battle and Kusunokis, who declined with Emperor Godaigo.

The financial situation of the village goes wrong, the village office plans to unify with its neibough city, Kawachinagano. But now there is not yet a conclusion if such unification will be realized.
