Commonwealth of the Philippines

The Commonwealth of the Philippines was formed in 1935 and was conquered by the Japanese on June 9, 1942, during World War II. The first president of the Commonwealth was Manuel L. Quezon. After the Japanese Occupation, it was followed by the Republic of the Philippines.
