Communist Party of Ontario
The Communist Party of Ontario is a provincial wing wing of the Communist Party of Canada. In the 1940s and 1950s under the name Labour Progressive Party the group elected two MPPs to the Ontario legislature, A.A. Macleod and J.B. Salsberg but has not been able to elect anyone at the provincial level since then. Individual members of the party have been elected to school boards in the past few decades but have done so as independents rather than as Communist Party candidates.
