The Crow's Nest Pass is a mountain pass in the Canadian Rockies on the borders of Alberta and British Columbia. The pass is named after the Crow First Nation which lived in the area. In 1898 a branch of the Canadian Pacific Railway was built through the pass, mostly to exploit the areas large coal fields. Today the pass is crossed by the Crowsnest Highway and an oil pipe line as well. It is the southern most of Canada's major Rocky Mountain passes.
