Danish People's Party

The Danish People's Party (Danish: Dansk Folkeparti) is a right-wing political party in Denmark. In the 2001 parliamentary elections, it took 22 seats out of 179 (an increase of 9 seats), on 12% of the vote, making it the third largest party in Denmark.

The party has anti-immigrant poliicies and wants Denmark to leave the EU. They were leaders in the 2000 referendum on membership in the Euro.

The DPP made its elecotral debut in the 1998 Danish parliamentary election winning 13 seats.

It is led by Pia Kjaersgaard. In the European Parliament its single MEP sits as a member of the Union for a Europe of Nations grouping.
