The character is mostly known from the first-person shooter game Duke Nukem 3D, developed by 3D Realms and released on 1996
Later, the character starred other games: Duke Nukem Time To Kill, Duke Nukem Land of Babes (these last two for the Sony's Playstation), and Duke Nukem Manhattan Project.
Also, a long-promised sequel, Duke Nukem Forever, is still in production after several years of development.
A live action movie was also announced, and has been said that Dwayne Johnson would play Duke.
