El Misti is a volcano located in southern Peru in the department of Arequipa. The city of Arequipa lies in a valley at the foot of El Misti.
With its snow-capped, perfect cone, it stands at 5,822 meters and lies between the mountain Chachani (6,057 meters) and the volcano Pichu-Pichu (5,669 meters).
