In Demon: The Fallen the Faustians have found that the humans, even a new born, have a spark of fire in them of the same nature of God's. They see the general state of humanity as less, but admire their ablity to define the area around them. The faustians believe that they can harness the human "sparks of fire" and control them to get control of the world away from God.
