Since Go uses the lines of these boards, they can also be considered 18x18, 12x12, and 8x8 if the squares are used. A number of games such as Draughts and Crossings which were not originally intended for Go equipment can be trivially adapted; the use of tape or paper to cover sections of the board, creating smaller rectangles, can be used to facilitate play of Philospher's Football and Epaminondas.
Like Go itself, many of these games share a certain aesthetic quality; the patterned layouts of half-played games can be viewed from an artistic standpoint.
