Gao Xingjian

Gao Xingjian (高行健; pinyin: Gāo Xíngjiàn, b. 1940) is a Chinese emigré novelist, dramatist and critic, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2000. He is also a noted translator, stage director and painter. He was born on January 4, 1940 in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, China and is now a French citizen.
