Another bootleg version of the song features alternate lyrics which express a wish for Pakistani immigrants to the United Kingdom to return to their native land. It is presumed that this version was meant as political satire, and not racial intolerance. Despite this, McCartney changed the lyrics of the official release to describe a man named “Jojo” who leaves his home in Tucson, Arizona “for some California grass,” and the song recommends that he return to Tucson. Linda McCartney's former residence in Tucson is likely the inspiration for the revised lyrics (Marck).
