Gibbard-Satterthwaite theorem

The Gibbard-Satterthwaite theorem states that every (unimposing) voting method which chooses between three or more candidates, must be either dictatorial or manipulable (i.e. susceptible to tactical voting). It follows from Arrow's impossibility theorem.
