Gongora
The genus Gongora (Ruiz and Pavon, 1794) is a member of the Orchid family (Orchidaceae). It consists of approximately 52 species known from Central America. The name comes from A. Caballero y Gongora, a viceroy of Colombia and Venezuela.
The genus is closely related to Stanhopea, Coryanthes, and Peristeria.
