Grantley Herbert Adams

Grantley Herbert Adams (1898-1971) was a Barbados politician. He served as the first Prime Minister of Barbados, and as the first and only Prime Minister of the West Indies Federation.

He was president of the Barbados Workers' Union from 1941 to 1954, after being leader of the Barbados Labour Party from 1938. He became the first Prime Minister of a self-governing Barbados, and in 1958 became Prime Minister of the West Indies Federation.
