Canada's National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains a Greenbelt in Ottawa, the nation's capital. This Greenbelt is a ring of land, surrounding the city in which real estate development is not permitted. The goal is to create an urban forest. To date, the Ottawa Greenbelt is among the largest urban parks in the world.
