Handwriting on the wall

The handwriting on the wall was interpreted by Daniel, who told Belshazzar that he had been weighed on the scales, and found guilty. Daniel told him because of his arrogance his kingdom will end, and that the Persians/Medes would conquer him. Fufilling that prophecy, Belshazzar was slain in the night, and Darius the Mede took control of the kingdom.
