Hartford Circus Fire
The Hartford Circus Fire is the deadly fire that broke out during a peformance of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus in Hartford, Connecticut on July 6, 1944. The fire consumed the canvas big top and claimed the lives of 167 people, many of whom were killed in the stampede to the exit. The fire is considered one of the worst fire disasters in the history of the United States.
