Hickory is also the name of some places in the United States:

"Old Hickory" was the nickname of Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 - June 8, 1845) was the seventh (1829-1837) President of the United States. Jackson was regarded as a national hero after defeating the British in the 1815 Battle of New Orleans.
