Highland cattle

Highland cattle (affectionately known as "shaggy coos" in parts of Scotland) are a horned and shaggy ancient Scottish breed of cattle which on export to the American colonies became the breeding stock of the Longhorn. Originally black, through selective breeding their predominant colour is brown.

There is a Scottish Highland Cattle Society.
