|valign="top"|PowerageHighway to Hell is a hard rock album by Australian band AC/DC, released in August of 1979 (see 1979 in music). By far their most popular album at the time of its release, Highway to Hell expanded AC/DC's audience considerably, and left poised for breakthrough success the following year, with Back in Black, after the untimely death of Bon Scott by alcohol poisoning.
