HMS Queen Mary was a Britishbattlecruiser of the Lion Class, armed with eight 13.5 inch guns, displacing 27,000 tons, and capable of steaming at 28 knots. She was under the command of Capt. C.I. Prowse when sunk at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. (It should not be confused with the liner RMS Queen Mary, though both were named after Mary of Teck.)
