Hoshi Sato

Hoshi Sato, a character in the fictional Star Trek universe, is the first communication officer to serve aboard a starship named Enterprise and is depicted on the science fiction television series Enterprise. She is a linguist who speaks over thirty languages, including Klingon. The character is played by Korean American actor Linda Park.

To judge from her name, she was destined to live in space: "Hoshi" (星) means "star" in Japanese, while "Sato" is probably the most popular Japanese surname 佐藤. (See Most popular family names#Japan and Japanese name)
