Houten

Houten (population: 38,122) is a town in the central Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. The municipality covers an area of 59.05 km² (of which 0.29 km² water).

The municipality of Houten also includes the following towns, villages and townships: 't Goy, Schalkwijk, Tull en 't Waal.

A tram operates between the Houten train station (htn) and Houten Castellum (htnc), parallel to the railroad. It is temporary until the railroad itself gets more tracks. It is line 23, train series 9000. See also Transportation in the Netherlands.
