Hypospray

The hypospray is a fictional medical device, similar to a safer syringe, first seen in the Star Trek universe. Apparently developed in the 24th century (as it is absent in the Star Trek: The Original Series and Enterprise), many people, most notably the EMH in Star Trek: Voyager are seen to use it.

The hypospray has crossed the barrier of being science fiction to being an actuality. A device similar to the hypospray has been invented and is currently being used in the medical world.
