450 American soldiers of the 1st air cavalry division were helicoptered in to find and attack North Vietnamese. They were immediately surrounded by over 3,000 soldiers of the Peoples Army of Vietnam. Suring the 3 day period of battle 79 Americans and over 2,000 enemy soldiers were killed.
