Infogrames Inc. is the company that renamed itself Atari Inc. in 2003 after having licensed the name from Hasbro. It was founded in 1983 by Bruno Bonnell and Christophe Sapet in the city of Lyon, France. Infogrames produces, publishes and distributes interactive games.

Since 1996 Infogrames acquired many companies from the video games market. They include: Ocean Software, Gremlin, Psygnosis, Accolade, GT Interactive and Shiny Entertainment.
