Inks Dam

Inks Dam was constructed in 1936-1938 3 miles downstream from, and in tandem with, Buchanan Dam and forms Inks Lake, one of the seven Texas Highland Lakes.

It was constructed to provide flood control and to provide hydroelectric power. It is distinguished by being the smallest of all the hydro power plants in all of the Highland Lakes chain.
