The Iraqi Regular Army consists of 300,000 troops organized into 5 corps. In all there are 11 infantry divisions, 3 mechanized divisions, and 3 armored divisions.

The force is primarily located in eastern Iraq.

2nd Corps -- near Diyala
- 3rd Armored Division
- 15th Infantry Division
- 34th Infantry Division
3rd Corps -- near An Nasiriyah
- 6th Armored Division
- 51st Mechanized Division
- 11th Infantry Division
4th Corps -- near Al Amarah
- 10th Armored Division
- 14th Infantry Division
- 18th Infantry Division
5th Corps -- near Mosel
- 1st Mechanized Division
- 4th Infantry Division
- 7th Infantry Division
- 16th Infantry Division

In addition there is an armored infantry division or battlegroup in western Iraq. The author does not know how this fits into the order of battle.
