James St Clair-Erskine, 2nd Earl of Rosslyn

James St Clair-Erskine, 2nd Earl of Rosslyn (1762 - 1837) was an English soldier and politician. James Erskine served in Portugal, Denmark and the Netherlands, and was promoted to general in 1814. From 1782 until 1805, when he became a peer, he was a member of parliament; a Tory politician and an associate of the Duke of Wellington, he was Lord Privy Seal (1829 - 1830) and later Lord President of the Council (1834 - 1835.
