Jeanne Eagels

Jeanne Eagels (June 26, 1890 - October 3, 1929) was an American actress. Born Amelia Jean Eagles in Kansas City, Kansas, she appeared on Broadway in the role of Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the age of 11. Her best known stage role was as Sadie Thompson in Rain.

She had a small filmography, capping it with her nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1929's The Letter. That same year, though, she died of a heroin overdose.
