John G. Rowland (born 1957) is the governor of Connecticut. He is a member of the United States Republican Party. He became governor in 1995 and is currently in his third term. He defeated Democrat Barbara Kennlly 63%-35% in 1998 and another Democrat, Bill Curry 54%-46% in 2002.
