Reyonlds was a former PC MP. He is the only Reform Party of Canada or Canadian Alliance MP to have sat as an MP before being elected in 1993. Reynolds was the former speaker of the BC Legislature, under the BC Social Credit Party. Reynolds, is seen by many as a representative as a western canadian voter; being a member of the Progressive Conservative, Social Credit, Reform, the Canadian Alliance, and finally the new Conservative Party of Canada
