Klaus Mann

Klaus Mann was a German writer, born 1906 died 1949. He was the son of German writer Thomas Mann and his wife Katia (nee Pringsheim). He suffered because of his homosexuality and his father's lack of esteem for him, and left Germany in the thirties.

He worked for the American army during the second world war. He died in Cannes of an overdose of sleeping pills. The literary scandal surrounding Mephisto made him posthumously famous in Germany.
