Korarchaeota (also spelt Xenarchaea or Xenarchaeota) is a supposed phylum of Archaea, known only from 16S rRNA sequences obtained from environmental species. No cultivated species of Korarchaeota are known, so their biology and relationship to other groups are uncertain, and some authors have even doubted their existence.
