The PUTRA LRT is a single line from the city's People's Park to Gombak. It was completed in 1999. The system, which is 29 km long, is the second longest fully-automated driverless metro system in the world, after Lille, France. The system uses Advanced light rapid transit technology from Bombardier, using linear motor technology.
The PUTRA LRT was featured in the closing scene of the 1999 Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones movie Entrapment.
