Lake Balaton, located in Hungary, is the biggest lake of Central Europe. It is 104 metres over the sea level, up to 11 metres deep, 592 sq. km. Since Hungary is landlocked, sometimes it is named "the Hungarian Sea". The Zala River provides the largest inflow of water.
High season is from June till the end of August. Tourist activities include swimming, sailing, surfing, fishing, boats, water-skiing, as well as visiting the countryside and hills, wine on the North coast and night life on the South.
