List of closed Melbourne railway stations
These stations of the Melbourne railway system are now closed and, for the most part, abandoned.
- Campbellfield (closed 5 May 1956) - south of Upfield station on the Upfield line
- White City (4 October 1981) - west of Tottenham station on the Sydenham line
- Mobiltown (29 January 1985) - southwest of Newport station on the Werribee line
- Paisley (14 April 1985) - west of Newport station on the Werribee line (now express track)
- Galvin (14 April 1985) - west of Paisley station on the Werribee line (now express track)
- Williamstown Pier (25 March 1987) - old terminus of Williamstown line
- General Motors (26 July 2002)- northeast of Dandenong station on the Pakenham line
The following stations were converted to cater for trams when the Port Melbourne and St Kilda lines were converted to light rail in 1985. The station platforms were all rebuilt to the proper height for trams.
Port Melbourne line stations were:
- Montague
- North Port
- Graham
- Port Melbourne
St Kilda line stations were:
- South Melbourne
- Albert Park
- Middle Park
- St Kilda
Additionally, several lines and many stations from the period of steam railways were closed during the advent of electric services, beginning in 1919. These include the Outer and Inner Circle lines, the paths they previously followed now largely being linear parks (although the modern Alamein line follows part of the old Outer Circle reservation).
