List of United States Mints
A mint is a place where new coins are created or where old ones are destroyed.
The United States government has operated a series of mints since the 1790s:
- Philadelphia Mint (mint mark: 'P' or none)
- Denver Mint (mint mark: 'D')
- San Francisco Mint (mint mark: 'S')
- Carson City Mint (mint mark: 'CC')
- Dahlonega Mint (mint mark: 'D')
- New Orleans Mint (mint mark: 'O')
- Charlotte Mint (mint mark: 'C')
Only the first three are currently making coins.
