Lower Colorado River Authority

The Lower Colorado River Authority or LCRA was formed in 1934 by the Texas legislature. Its main concerns are conservation, electricity, and water. The LCRA currently operates six dams along the Colorado River in the Central Texas area:

• Buchanan Dam
• Inks Dam
• Wirtz Dam
• Starcke Dam
• Mansfield Dam
• Tom Miller Dam
